Tower Oil & Technology Co. announces a new coolant targeted for machining aluminum alloys. A four year R & D and field testing project has concluded with the introduction of TOWERKEM 574. TOWERKEM 574 uses a newly discovered lubricity molecule in a synthetic micellar dispersion fluid that does not contain petroleum oil, chlorinated or sulfurized additives.
TOWERKEM 574 is compatible in waters having a wide range of hardness and typically operates at 5 – 10% concentrations. It provides excellent tool life, surface finish, flushing, cooling, and tramp oil rejection. TOWERKEM 574 extends the useful sump life over semi-synthetics and soluble oils normally used. It is fully formulated to protect aluminum alloys, zinc, yellow, and ferrous metals from corrosion and staining.
TOWERKEM 574 is economical to use, contains no hazardous ingredients and gets outstanding operator acceptance.

Tower Oil & Technology Co. introduces its newest product in the KLENEDRAW family of metalforming lubricants. KLENEDRAW W-4801 is the most heavy-duty member of this family. KLENEDRAW W-4801 replaces highly chlorinated soluble oils and compounded oils saving users who wash parts thousands of dollars in energy costs. These savings are realized by reducing the cleaner bath temperatures.
Originally developed and field trialed on heavy gauge high strength automotive frame components. KLENEDRAW W-4801 is now being run on tough steel alloys and stainless steel applications for deep drawing, stamping, drawing, perforating, in-die tapping, tube bending and fabricating.
KLENEDRAW W-4801 is a synthetic micellar dispersion that does not contain petroleum oil. It forms a stable solution in waters having a wide range of hardness levels and is frequently used at dilutions of 8 –25%. The residue left by KLENEDRAW W-4801 provides for extended corrosion protection. Secondary welding operations can be performed without cleaning.
